Electolysis is the only proven method of hair removal that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be permanent and can effectively remove all hair types and colours from the face and body.
An exceptionally fine sterile probe is inserted into each individual hair follicle sending a localised electrical current to the growth centre to destroy the stem cells and blood supply that allow the hair to grow. You may experience a heat sensation or sting from the current which allows the hair to detach from the follicle and slide out with the aid of tweezers.
When hair is in the “correct” cycle of growth, only then treatment with electrolysis may be the most effective in destroying the growth base responsible for the hair growth. If all cells are not destroyed the hair may grow back finer, softer and lighter. With continued treatments, it will eventually result in the follicle being unable to produce another hair.
